LOCAL FIRST / PRIVACY
Starboard keeps the command deck on your machine.
The product design is simple: a native Windows window, a local Python bridge, and a local JSON config. No account is required to use the deck.
Local configuration
Spaces, buttons, colors, and actions are stored in a local `config.json` file next to the app. That file is personal and should stay out of Git.
Local actions
Buttons can open local files, folders, apps, URLs, and shell commands. Command buttons should use confirmation for anything risky.
Future integrations
Planned integrations such as OBS, Home Assistant, SSH, webhooks, and optional AI features should remain explicit and opt-in. Any cloud AI path should be text-only and key-gated by the user.
